Inspiration: The twisted teardrop shape can be traced to a textile pattern popular in an ancient time. In the mid-19th century, however, the design was westernize and attributed to the town of Paisley in West Scotland, an emerging textile and weaving center of the day, attracting mill owners from Highlands.
